" It was my undying love for him that sustained me throughout my five-year ordeal of hoping that he was alive and that he would ultimately be with us." (Dorothy's interview with Times Journal on her birthday, Feb. 14, 1973)
Pop and Dorothy, 1964
30 Years later!
We are a very close knit family. All our children live within 45 minutes from us and we feel very lucky indeed to have them all in the San Francisco Bay Area. We manage to spend a lot of time together by phone or weekly visits in addition to our birthdays, anniversary, and holidays. We also look forward to our family reunions every summer when we go camping and fishing. During winter we rent a house in the snowy Sierras. It is a joy to watch our children and grandchildren play in the snow as we sit in a warm and toasty house.
We brought our children into this world to love and support one another and to share what we have with people that are less fortunate than we are. As adults, our children have a special bond... they get along very well and share interests together. They make it a point to have a "night out" every December but Dorothy and I get the better deal! We get to visit and be entertained by all our grandchildren. We have a wonderful relationship with our kids and that makes us proud --- the love that we all share is priceless....nothing money can buy!

In memory of our brother, Robert, who passed away in 1986. We miss him dearly!
I will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His hands...
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil,
for Thou are with me;
